Andrea Sue (Walker) Hanson

Born in Tempe, Arizona, to Paul and Madelyn (Cheeseman) Walker on March 27, 1969, and has found joy in the arms of her Lord and Savior as of September 23, 2021. God is good all of the time, and all of the time God is good!

Andrea graduated from Everett High School, Everett, Washington, 1985, and received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Westmont College, Santa Barbara, California, 1989. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, 1992. She worked in clinical trial research management until pursuing her favorite career of being a mom.

Andrea was a passionate Jazzercise instructor for over 23 years. Hobbies included walking, baking, working in the yard and playing piano. She enjoyed travel for both work and pleasure and saw many parts of the world. She was a lifelong volunteer at churches, hospitals, civic organizations and her kids' schools. She was famous for last-minute visits to surprise and support family and friends. Treasured memories include family vacations and trips with her sisters.

Andrea is survived by husband Brian and children, Joshua and Elizabeth; parents Paul and Madelyn Walker; sisters Susan Walker (Tod Brody), Stephanie Bean (Larry), and Deirdre Walker; parents-in-law Richard and Roberta Hanson; sisters and brothers-in-law Cheryl Budde (Bob) and Steve Hanson (Diane); and many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

Visitation and viewing will be held 5:00-8:00 PM October 15, 2021 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, Minnesota 55901. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Autumn Ridge Church, 3611 Salem Rd. SW, Rochester, Minnesota 55902 with viewing one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Westmont College (www.westmont.edu) or The Grace Foundation (www.grace-foundation.org). Also, Andrea and her family benefitted greatly from and are thankful for Inheritance of Hope, an organization that supports families with a terminally ill parent (www.inheritanceofhope.org). As a colon cancer patient, Andrea encourages you to get your colonoscopy starting at age 45.
