DARLA HERLEIN MUSCATINE, Iowa - Darla K. Herlein, 62, of Muscatine, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Island Cemetery. Honorary bearers will be Roger Whitlock Sr., Tim Othmer, and Mike Phillips. Casket bearers will be Shawn Herlein, Tracy Ross, Mike Foor, Joshua Jarr, Tim McLaughlin, and Victor Castillo. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the funeral home. Online condolences for the Herlein family may be left at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Darla was born on December 24, 1947, in Muscatine, the daughter of Keith Kenton and Ruth C. Yerington Kirk. She was united in marriage to Harry Herlein on April 25, 1984, in Muscatine. She enjoyed ceramics and fishing. She was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Harry Herlein of Muscatine; one brother, David Lee Kirk of Muscatine; one half brother, Hiram Norris of Florida; one step brother, Carl Yerington of Muscatine; and one step sister, Barbara Yerington of Oskaloosa. She was preceded in death by her parents and one step sister, Judy Kaul.
