Randol A. Probyn

Canton - Randol Allen Probyn, 69, of Monticello, IN, formerly of Canton, passed away at 8:54 a.m., Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton. He was born on July 20, 1952, in Canton to George C. and Flora Jean (Cook) Probyn. He married Gail Bivens on July 20, 1983, in Lewistown. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents, infant brother Charles R. Probyn and two sisters, Judith A. Largent-Jett and Janis K. Hipple.

Surviving are his brother Jeffery L. (Shelley) Probyn of Canton, a special great-niece Taylor Wright of Urbana, OH, special friends Connie Cosgray and Denise Caldwell both of Monticello, IN, step-daughter Lisa Gonterman of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Randy worked at Peters Revington in Delphi, IN until its closure and then worked as a janitor at Twin Lakes School in Monticello, IN. He was an avid NASCAR fan, with Chase Elliott being his favorite driver. Randy was also a veteran, serving in the Army Reserves in Canton.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a burial of ashes will take place at a later date in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
