"So very sorry to hear of Ed Wooten's passing. Maureen, sincere condolences to you and the family. Ed was a bright star in the Class of 1972 at St. Teresa School. A ready friend, always with a warm and welcoming smile. Everyone writes of Eddie's laughter and sense of humor. That was the gift he gave all of us. I haven't seen Ed in many years but I'm not surprised to read of his ongoing devotion and support of the school we loved so much. Coach Wooten was such an unselfish soul and his memory will always make us smile. "

"Man does this make me sad... I played for Ed in 8th grade and he was such a good coach, such a good guy... In later years I always looked forward to bumping into him at Church when I would return home to visit. His gentle smile and his kindness were right there on the surface for all to see. That?s truly a special quality. My heartfelt sympathy to his beautiful family and all those who counted him as a friend and mentor. His presence will be painfully missed but I have no doubt that his incredibly bright spirit will continue to shine and be felt by all those who cherished him."

"Ed was the greatest coach I ever had in my life. I was a sixth grader at St Theresa?s in 1984 and he taught me so much on the court that I later worked as his assistant coach for a few years until he retired and told me it was my time to coach the team. I now have twin boys of my own and always tell them that a great coach is someone who not only takes the the time to show you the game but also takes the time to explain how to respect others and be the best person you can be. Thank you Ed for showing me so many things through our time together and my prayers to your family. "

"Maureen, Beth, Brian, and Katie my heart absolutely breaks for your loss. Ed was one of the kindest most caring and giving men I have ever known. He touched the lives of so many young men and women over the years. I always remember him making it a point after a STS basketball game (win or loose) to come over and thank the cheerleaders for supporting and cheering for them. He was truly a class act and will be missed by so many! We pray that all your memories give you comfort at this difficult time. Mary and Bob Thomas"

I have such wonderful memories of hanging out as teenagers and although our paths went in different directions over the years, you (Maureen) and Ed have always held a special place in my heart. He was a good man who touched many lives and my only hope is that I pray you can all find some comfort after your grief has subsided a bit in knowing he is now with his mom and dad, and watching over you all. "My condolences to the Wooten family. Mr. Wooten was my basketball coach for a few years back in the early 2000s. He was one of the best teachers at STS but never set foot in the classroom. Mr. Wooten taught us how to work hard, have a work ethic, pick up your teammates (if one of us messed up we all paid for it). Most of all he taught all of us how to be decent young men. We are all better for having known Mr. Wooten. The lessons I learned from him will last a lifetime. Mr. Wooten you will never be forgotten. Thank you for all of those lessons. Sincerely, Anthony Natale Class of 2002"

"I want to send my condolences to the Wooten family. Mr. Wooten was a tremendous coach and even better man. He demanded respect on the basketball court and the entire team was better for it. Not only did he build great teams, he built respectful young men. One fond memory I share with my teammates on the 2003 STS Bball team is when we all decided to wear knee high socks for one game. Mr Wooten didn?t say anything to us before the game, but at half time he yelled ?get on The line? and made us all run suicides. RIP Mr. Wooten My condolences, Jake Connaire "
