Wendell "Russ" Ferris, 78, of Conrad, IA, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 due to complications of a severe kidney infection at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown, IA. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family request those attending the service dress in casual attire. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Marshalltown Animal Rescue League. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.

Russ was born October 2, 1943 to Olin Wayne and Helen Jean (Alexander) Ferris near Hit, Missouri. On July 14,1963 Russ was united in marriage to Bessie Lee Noon at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Russ and Bessie then went on to have three children. They decided to make their home in Conrad where they have lived most of their lives. Throughout his life, Russ was proud to be a semi-truck driver, traveling to all of the lower 48 States. In August of 2009 he retired from trucking to care for Betsy, who had a stroke. In December 2015 Russ had his own stroke where he then resided at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad ever since.

Left to remember and love Russ is his wife; Betsy, daughters; Lisa, Wendy (Travis) Thomas, son; Rusty, grandchildren; Jessica (Jeff) Peak, Brandon Ferris, great-grandchildren; Hunter Zeiner, Lilli Zeiner, Grace Peak, Roper Peak, siblings; Butch Ferris, Carolyn Rhinesmith, Marilyn Hupfeld, Pam (Richard) Weatherly, brother-in-law; Dale (Dana) Noon, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-laws Dale and Helen Noon, brother-in-laws; Harvey Rhinesmith, Allen Hupfeld, sister-in-laws; Donna (Hank) Rooda, Judy (Don) Green, and many beloved dogs.
