Roy Austill MUSCATINE, Iowa - Roy J. Austill, 79, of Muscatine, formerly of Woodland Park, Colorado, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011, at Bickford Cottage in Muscatine. A private memorial will be held. Jeffrey S. Nichols - Garden Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the arrangements. Roy was born on April 20, 1931, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Roy George and Laura Gertrude Hammond Austill. He married Gail P. Krumbholz on October 11, 1969, in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 2007. He was a graduate of Tri-State College in Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 2000. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling and participating with the senior club. Those left to honor his memory include sons, Wayne J. Austill of Lockhart, Texas, and Scott Mohr of Stockton; daughters, Tamara Grothe of Baytown, Texas, and Pamela Baker of Wilton; and a sister, Virginia McGee of Eudora, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
