BETTY JEAN DOYLE
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Betty Jean Doyle, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Khoa Le will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Doyle, Chase Timmons, Colton Timmons, Alex Doyle, Amanda Doyle, and Aaron Doyle. A time of food and fellowship will follow the committal service at Gannon Hall.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. A rosary prayer service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or Ss. Mary Mathias Parish. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Betty Jean was born on August 4, 1933, in Muscatine, the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Houser Henning. She married Eugene Doyle on December 26, 1955, at St. Mary's Church, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Betty Jean worked as an OB nurse at Muscatine General from 1954 until 1978. She then worked private duty care at Lutheran Homes from 1980-1983. Betty Jean worked as a school nurse from 1983 until 1998 before she retired. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters.

Betty Jean enjoyed boating, card club, and the Bells of St. Mary's. She was very supportive and loved to attend her grandchildren's events.

Betty Jean is survived by her children, Michael Doyle and wife, Vesta, their son, Ben Doyle and his children, Katie and Ben Jr., Tim Doyle and wife, Beth, their children, Alex Doyle, Amanda Doyle, and Aaron Doyle, and Lisa Timmons and husband, Clay, their children, Chase Timmons and his wife, Veronica, and their child Ivan and Colton Timmons and his fiancé, Erin; and one brother J.D. Walters of Muscatine.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Joe Walters; her husband in 2002; one brother, Charles Walters; and one infant sister, Deborah Ann
