Alice J. Linder
May 29, 1934 - November 14, 2021

Alice Jean Linder, 87, passed away on Sunday November 14, 2021. She was born to Myrtle (Selleck) and James G. Tubby in Sleightsburg, NY, on May 29, 1934.

Alice lived a long life, she worked in the Pajama Factory and as a home health aide. She was involved in numerous activities: Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Grange Leader, and taught Vacation Bible School.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husbands, William F. Whitaker Sr., Lewis B. Gorsline, Maurice Linder, her common law partner, Hurbert B. Faurote, her son, William F. Whitaker, Jr., her daughters, Peggy Dennis and Esther McCaughin, her siblings, James, Charles, & Richard Tubby, and Phyllis Preston, as well as one great grandchild.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean Murray, JoAnn West, Lisa Coddington, & Della Peters, her son, James B. Whitaker, her stepdaughter, Kathy Linder, her brother, Bruce Tubby, her grandchildren, Paul R. Murray II, Melinda Kimble, MaryAlice Murray, Sarah & Julie Whitaker, Ashley & Michael Whitaker, Robert Potter, Akiko Nelson, James & Nathan West, Jenna Medenbach, Nicholas & Jolene Carpino, Julia Dunn, Christofer Moe, Rosanne Coddington, Paul Scott, David, Jonathan, Timothy, Justin McCaughin, Christa & Samantha Ermer, as well as many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren.

Services are entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday November 18, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday November 19, 2021 at 10am followed by burial in the Union Cemetery of Lloyd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities at RMHC of the Capital Region, Inc., 139 South Lake Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
