Carol Jean Halsey, 88, of Eldora, IA passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at Eldora Specialty Care in Eldora. Cremation rights have been accorded. Graveside services will be held for Bud & Carol at a later date in the Summer of 2022. Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown, IA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Carol was born and raised in Fairfield, Iowa. She married her high school sweetheart, Laurin "Bud" Halsey on September 17, 1950. They had 3 children, Sherry Hagen, Crawford, NE, Mark (Patti) Halsey, Eldora, Iowa and Trish (Wendell) Wingrove, Chickasaw, AL. They have 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great, great, grandchildren.
Her life was dedicated to her husband, children and family. Soft was spoken and a true lady, but also known for her "out of the blue" ornery streak. According to grandchildren and great grandchildren, no one could make pancakes like "little grandma". She loved crafting, crocheting, reading and dancing with Bud. They owned Mr B's and Mode O Day during 1973-1979, both former Eldora Businesses. They loved to travel and visit family in Arizona and California.
