Evonne Kludas English
December 31, 1934 - November 17, 2021

Evonne Kludas English, 86, of Story City, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, November
17, 2021. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20 at the Bethany Life
Chapel in Story City from 9-10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am, with
Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa.

Evonne was born on December 31, 1934 in Cherokee, Iowa to Earl and Ruby (Whiting)
Kludas. She was raised on the family farm east of Cherokee and graduated from
Cherokee High School in 1952. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Drake
University in 1957, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from University of Iowa in 1962.

Evonne enjoyed a career as a professional artist, art instructor and assistant professor
of art. While teaching at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, she met her future
husband, Dr. John C. English. The couple were married in 1966, and lived in Baldwin
City, Kansas for fifty years. Evonne enjoyed photography, traveling and collecting art
from around the world. Evonne was a member of numerous art associations, and
received several well deserved awards.

Evonne is survived by her niece, Diane (John) Taylor, her nephew Daniel (Lezlie) Lundy,
three grandnieces and four grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband, sister Donna (Kludas) Lundy and nephew David Lundy.

Fredregill Funeral and Cremation Care in Zearing has been entrusted with funeral
arrangements.
