Dorothy Gray, 88, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at her residence under the care of Iowa River Hospice surrounded by family. Cremation rights have been accorded and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Dorothy was born on March 14, 1933, in Oelwein to Robert and Cleo (Wilson) Fox. She was the eighth of nine children. She was married to Bob (Robert) Gray in Marshalltown on May 5, 1949. They always made their home in Marshalltown where they raised their three children. Dorothy was employed at various places including Marshalltown Manufacturing, Printco, Lennox and Coopers. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved the many winters she and her husband spent in San Diego.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 72 years, Bob, and their three children: Dave (Terry) Gray, Diane Hauser, Dennis Gray; seven grandchildren: Amy Halter, Stacy Gray, Erin Loney, Sean Sayre, Christopher Gray, Kate Wood, Brian Gray; 10 great grandchildren, her sister, Alice, and special nephew, Ron Fox. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Bob, Richard, Wayne, Edward, Lorraine, Shirley, and Mary Lou.
