Jack R. Gibson passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the age of 76. Jack was born in Colfax, Iowa December 1, 1944. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, Iowa. Visitation will precede the service starting at 2:00 pm on November 23, 2021, at the funeral Home in Colfax. Memorial may be directed to the Colfax Country Club or Avalon Hospice in West Des Moines. Jack proudly enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963 and was a part of the famous Seabees. Following his discharge, Jack moved back to Colfax and worked as a press operator at the Monroe Table Company for many years before retiring in 2007. He is well known around the community for all his work at the golf course. Jack could be frequently found mowing the fairways and discussing all sorts of things with his friends in the clubhouse. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is remembered by three grandchildren, Brooklyn, Beighonha and Banes and a sister, Sharon Mindham. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; son Jaron; brothers, Larry and Harry; and a brother-in-law, Larry Mindham.
