Margaret Sprecher, 89, of Yates City, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her home. Margaret was born on January 11, 1932, to Loren and Ruth (Beckner) Shoop in Youngstown, Illinois. Later she started her career in the airline industry working for Northwest Airlines, Sabina Airlines, and Ozark Airlines. During her career she lived in Chicago, Illinois, Billings, Montana, and Anchorage, Alaska, before returning in 1966 to Elmwood, where she worked for Ozark Airlines until retirement. Margaret was of the Christian faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Elmwood. She enjoyed traveling, family visits, and had a love of books, as demonstrated by frequent visits to the Elmwood library. She started a new chapter of her life when she met and married Lewis Sprecher in the early 1980s. She loved being a homemaker and so enjoyed farming and caring for crops and livestock with Louie. She loved Louie dearly and cared for him until his death on July 4, 1996. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis, as well as brothers, Dale (Dorothy), Donald, Robert (Mary Jean), Richard (Jane) and Edward. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Elmwood Township Cemetery. "I worked alongside Margaret for many years at Ozark Air Lines. Although quiet and semmingly shy, she had a biting wit and fine sense of humor. Margaret was also very, very bright. All love and good memories, Sharon from the rate desk"

"Margaret was a very nice person. My mom and I had the pleasure of meeting her several years ago at the wellness center in Canton. We were very sad to hear of her passing, she will be missed. Our hearts are with her family during this heartbreaking time. May the lord bring comfort and healing during this time. Take comfort in knowing she my not be here physically but she is with you all in spirit."
