Leona Y. Mercaldo, 87 of Broad Axe, died Friday in the Silverstream Nursing Home Springhouse, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (nee Adamo) Yanni. Mrs. Mercaldo was preceded in death by her husband John S. Mercaldo in 1986.
She was a Switch Board Operator, employed by Conrail prior to her retirement in 1985
Mrs. Mercaldo was a member of Railroad Business Women's Assoc. Philadelphia Chapter and St. Joseph's Church in Ambler
She is the devoted mother of Merry A. Linde and her husband Bill of Broad Axe, PA, Frank L. Mercaldo and his wife Kim of Lansdale, PA and the Late John Allen Mercaldo who died in 1972. She was the loving Grandmother of Elaine Fedyk and Courtney Linde and the Great grandmother of Madeline Fedyk.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday April 21, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
