Merrill Dean Streeter, age 86 of Prairie City, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Prairie City United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Prairie City United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City United Methodist Church, the Runnells Historical Society or UnityPoint Hospice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Donald Homer and Mary Frances (Conklin) Streeter, Merrill was born on April 20, 1935 in Indianola, Iowa. He graduated from Runnells High School. Merrill served in the United States Army in Korea. On July 2, 1958, he was united in marriage to Karolyn Jennings at Fort Benning, Georgia. Merrill worked for the Maytag Company and retired after 30 years. He was a long-time member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church. He was active in the Runnells Historical Society, liked going camping, making homemade ice cream and spending time on his son's farm. He especially enjoyed spending time and making memories with his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Karolyn; two sons, Michael (Bobbi) Streeter and Daniel (Pam) Streeter; four grandchildren, Adam (Amy) Streeter, Seth (Jessica) Streeter, Megan (Ryan) Evans and Matthew (Ariel) Streeter; nine great grandchildren and two brothers, Verle Streeter and Larry Streeter. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Donna Jean Cully.
