In loving memory of

Joshua Edward Koch
April 9, 1987 - November 22, 2021

Josh Koch, of Coon Rapids, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34 on November 22, 2021. Josh was born in Aurora, CO on April 9, 1987. Those who knew Josh, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Josh was known for his big heart, quick wit, love of the Green Bay Packers and hanging out with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with grandparents, camping at Winnie, waterskiing, snowmobiling, and fishing with his buddies. His love of sports was shared with his Grandpa Schuck and his mom. He and his mom went to his first Packer game at Lambeau in 2010 and had a great day together.

Josh will be missed everyday by his mom, Renee (Jim Slade) and his dad, Keith. In addition to his parents, Josh will be missed by the love of his life Ashley Spanovich; Grandma, Arona Schuck; Grandpa, Bill Koch; aunts; uncles; cousins; extended family, and many good friends. Josh was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Ed Schuck; Grandma, Emily Koch and by his great-grandparents.

His smile and laugh always lit up a room. He was loved more than words can express and our hearts are broken.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. "Renee, I was saddened to hear of the loss of your son. Though I never knew him personally, if he was at all like you, he was a wonderful guy! Clearly, he was intelligent as evidenced by the football team of which he was a fan. Glad you have memories of sharing game time together. There really aren?t words to express how profound it is to lose someone, especially your child. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Please know we are grieving with and praying for you. And, there is hope someday you will see Josh again. Until then, know you are loved by many. Dana"

" So sorry to hear about the passing of Josh? I haven?t spoken to or seen Josh since high school but he is one person that I can honestly say had a lasting impact on my life. He was such a kind and gentle person. He was one of those people you could always rely upon, he was fun, understanding, and compassionate. Most importantly he was a friend to anyone, which is a rare quality to find. When I see a someone our age pass away I tend to keep to myself, but when it comes to Josh I think it?s important for everyone to know what a truly wonderful person he was. To his loved ones I thank you for sharing such a kind and wonderful individual with us, I am so sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. "
