Copeland,
Antonio Royce
Muskegon, Michigan

Antonio Royce Copeland, age 38, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021. He was born in Muskegon, MI on July 5, 1983 to Jessie Copeland and Debra Martin. Antonio was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School and earned a degree in Theater Arts from Western Michigan University. Antonio brought music to life, when you met him he spoke straight to you. He woke up an excitement within you and epitomized life. From singing show tunes walking to school, to serenading others any time a piano was available, especially in hotel lobbies. Ever the performer, Antonio was always the purveyor of happiness. After college, he lived in New York City where he performed in numerous productions and entertained people in various venues. He later returned to Muskegon to care for his ailing mother until her death in 2017. He continued to sing and perform in local productions, most recently as "Donkey" in Muskegon Civic Theaters' production of "Shrek". Antonio was a kind soul, with a smile that captivated, a charm that left you feeling like you had known him forever and a friend you would never be able to forget. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

"Antonio has left such a mark on my heart and in my soul. He was a brilliant light and made everyone around him happy. I pray that he rests peacefully and that we continue to share his stories and his light with the world for years to come. "

Dana Piccoli wrote on Nov 30, 2021:

"Have spent much time this week thinking of being onstage with you, and how you always gave full-out passionate performances. You were as funny as you were thoughtful and tender. "

Shaylynn wrote on Nov 30, 2021:

"Deepest condolences to Antonio's Family. He was a student of mine when I first moved to the area through Muskegon Civic and he was such a bright vibrant energy . . . my husband and daughter were in Shrek with him and when Antonio realized that Zozz was my daughter, there was an instant bond because I'd told her so many stories about him and how fun he was. He made a little girl's first big community theatre production a very special one. He also helped her film a commercial for her 4th grade class project and she was over the moon about it. You just can't beat that and she'll have those memories forever. For me, I'm heartbroken and will look back on those memories fondly for a light that was extinguished far too soon."

Cecilia Vance wrote on Nov 29, 2021:

You will be missed dearly, and we love u ?till we meet again ? Your sister Cecilia ???"
