Roxane Smith, age 63, of Boone, Iowa, died Monday, November 29, 2021, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, 1400 IA-175, Stratford, IA. 50249 followed by a memorial service at 10 :00 a.m. Condolences may be expressed online at www.amesmonument.com.
Roxane Marie Smith was born November 6, 1958, in Webster City, Iowa, to Marvin Dee and Shirley Ione (Johnson) Vinchattle. She grew up in Stratford where she graduated from Stratford High School in 1977. Roxane was united in marriage to Brian Smith on July 15, 1977, and was blessed with two sons, Jerad and Joshua. The couple was later divorced.
Roxane worked in food service for many years, including for Boone Community Schools and at area nursing homes, and also operated a food truck in Stanhope. She was a homemaker at heart and loved to express her love for family and friends through her wonderful cooking. Roxane's close-knit family was her greatest source of joy.
Survivors include two sons, Jerad Smith, and Josh (Jessica) Smith, all of Boone; two grandchildren, Martin Smith and Atlee Smith; her partner, Ed Busing of West Des Moines; two brothers, Michael Vinchattle of Strasburg, CO, and Nile (Karen) Richey of Stratford; a sister, Judy (Jerry) Ferguson of Stratford; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members

Roxane was preceded in death by her parents.
