Dale D. Rahfeldt I
July 21, 1934 - December 10, 2021

Dale D. Rahfeldt I, 87, of Ames, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. A private family burial will be held in the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing, Iowa.

Dale was born in Nevada, Iowa on July 21, 1934, to Edward and Anna Henrietta (Borchert) Rahfeldt. He grew up in Zearing where he was active on the boys' basketball and baseball teams. He graduated from Zearing High School with the class of 1952. He continued his education and went to Iowa State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He moved to Aurora, Illinois and worked for a dairy farm. Dale then took a sales position with International Correspondent School. While making his rounds he met the love of his life Anna Marie Simon. The couple was married on November 23, 1963. After marriage they stayed in Aurora where they bought a house and started a family. In 1976, the family moved to Ames to help with his mother's failing health and took a supervisor position with Sauer Sundstrand. After Sundstrand went through massive layoffs, Dale studied and became a Certified Financial Planner. Later in life he took a job with Wal-Mart as an overnight stocker. He enjoyed it so much he worked there for 19 years. During his time at Walmart and beyond he also was a phone card distributor. Dale loved his family and was always willing to play catch and board games (especially Chinese checkers) with his children and assist with their homework. Having grandchildren made him so happy. He loved teaching them new things, encouraging their interests, and attending all of their activities. He was a big ISU Cyclone and Cubs fan and watched or listened to their games whenever he could.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Anna Marie Rahfeldt of Ames, IA; children Dale Rahfeldt II of Ames, Iowa and Lana (Bob) Jarvis of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren Alexandria and Cain Jarvis; siblings Daryl (Marge) Rahfeldt and Darla (Gary) Glenney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
