Nicholas (Nick) Anthony Peterson was born on December 12, 1970 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nick lived in foster care until his admission to Home for Creative Living in 1977. He was confirmed in 1991 at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. He received his education from Windom Area High School and graduated with the Class of 1992. Following high school, Nick started working for the Cottonwood County DAC and worked there until he passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Windom Area Hospital.
Nick will be remembered for his beautiful brown eyes that seemed to sparkle constantly. His eyes seemed to welcome people. No one could walk by Nick without stopping to greet him. He will also be remembered for his smile. He had a smile that lit up the whole room. No matter your mood, after seeing Nick smile one could not help but smile themselves. Nick also had a contagious laugh; once he started laughing everyone could not help but join in. The combination of the three made it impossible not to immediately love him.
Nick enjoyed fishing, concerts, games and anything that involved him with others. Nick was a people person, and thrived on the love and attention of others, which he willingly returned.
Nick is survived by his loving staff and housemates of HCL, Apartment 4.
Blessed be the memory of Nicholas Anthony Peterson.

"I remember Nick very well from long ago-I worked with him from 1979-1988. He was always quiet and sweet and returned threefold any love and attention given him. The world is poorer for your absence, Nick, but I'm glad that you are no longer limited by your body. It was a privilege to know you."
