Allen Woodside wrote on Dec 29, 2021:

"In memory of Sharon Kay Himes: I remember when we first met at the junior NCO Club at Fort Ord, California in the late 1950s. I best remember Sharon as the loveliest, sweetest, kindest, and most endearing member of the Women?s Army Corp?s WAC Detachment. These were and still remain just a few of her many wonderful mid-western (Iowa) attributes that made her a darling of a wife and very caring mother of our creatively talented son, Richard, and of course, our equally talented daughter, Rochelle. I shall always love Sharon, today, tomorrow, and forevermore with all my love and dear memories of Sharon?. Allen Woodside . "

Lisa Shafer wrote on Dec 25, 2021:

"Sharon was a wonderfully loving, generous spirit who not only treated me like a mother when mine was so far away but took in many of her son's friends growing up. She had a lot of spirit and a great sense of humor. I can't believe I can never see her over coffee again in her house, which was always a warm place to visit or talk to her again about a book I think she'd like. Although I'm glad her suffering is at an end, the world is a darker place without her in it. "
