"Dearest Family, There are no words that can take away the pain that you are feeling.  There is no one in this world like your mother.  I always admired Thea Fani's kindness, generosity, and caring nature.  Her smile, laugh, and larger than life personality was contagious.  The love she showed her family and friends was unconditional and heartwarming.  Thea Fani was a special woman, I will miss her dearly.  I know your mom is watching over you and protecting you. Your mom?s spirit will continue to guide you just as she did when she was here in the physical world. She will always be with you and her memory will live on forever. Sending our love and deepest condolences, Despina Karfis and family "

"My Dearest Family, I?m not sure what to say in the face of such a difficult loss. Just want you to know that I feel your pain, and I share in your sadness. I like to believe that when we lose someone close to us, like a Mother and Father, they still live through us and give us strength. The time we have spent with those we?ve lost makes them a part of us. My memories of my Godmother stem from an early age. I always longed for those brief visits to Chicago. I remember such a loving, vibrant, and exuberant soul! I remember running and jumping into her arms sooooo excited to see her, and of course the two of you! On a couple of occasions she would take off her necklace of the cross and give it to me. A sign and symbol of protection, and love from a distance. I will cherish those moments forever! She will be missed by many! My Heartfelt Condolences. Love Always, Maria Karfis "
