Richard John McMahon II
November 1, 1922 - July 24, 2011

Richard John McMahon II, (Flag Emblem) of Elk Grove Village, Ill died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Manor Care in Elk Grove Village. He was 88 years old. He was born on November 1, 1922 in Chicago, Ill a son of Richard and Clara (Mace) McMahon I. He married Sylvia Stoewsand on October 10, 1942 in Chicago. She preceded him in death on May 18, 2009.

He was a 1940 graduate of Lane Technical High School. Mr. McMahon served in the United States Navy from June 16, 1944 to February 19, 1946 serving aboard the USS Remus and USS Rigel.

He was a tool and die maker by trade, a plant manager for Georgia Pacific and a vice president of manufacturing and sales for Heco Envelope Company.

He enjoyed putting together puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Ross) Giordano, Hoffman Estates, Ill; a son Richard (Jean) McMahon III, Downers Grove, IL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy McMahon, Elk Grove Village.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis McMahon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Star Neva Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
