Despite the shenanigans that the neighborhood kids were always up to, she was always patient and kind to us. Throughout college, I always looked forward to catching up with her when I?d visit home. Never saw her without a smile and she would tell me that when her house was built, the area where we live was just a filed. "Steve, Colleen, and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Frank and I, and our son Matthew, lived in the house next door to your mother from 2008 to 2020. We loved being her neighbor! She loved her neighborhood and her neighbors well. She always had time for a visit ?across the fence? and loved to pet our little dog, Sadie. As Matt progressed through college, she always asked how he was doing. Of course, she kept an impeccable yard! We teased her that we mowed our yard once for every three times she mowed hers. ;). We live in North Alabama now, but we were in Canton for the holidays, and I had hoped to stop by and visit Carolyn, but then Matthew tested positive for Covid, and we all had to quarantine. I wish I could?ve visited with her once more. Please know your mom was both loved and respected by those who knew her, and we will certainly miss her.
