Joseph Charles Doyle age 62, of Huxley, IA passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. A visitation will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave, Ames, IA on Thursday January 13th from 4:00-6:00 PM. The funeral will be held Friday January 14th at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church.
Joe Doyle was born in Spencer, IA on January 19, 1959, the son of Larry and Rita. Joe grew up in the Fort Dodge area with a large family and many siblings to get into trouble with. Joe married the love of his life, LouAnn Renae Kathman, on October 3rd, 1981 at St. Cecilia.
Joe was many things to many people. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, colleague, teacher, and mentor. The one thing that every person who met him will agree upon is that he made their day brighter. From his siblings who have known him his whole life to the person he inevitably struck up a conversation with while waiting in line. They will all tell you the same thing. He was a conversationalist who left a positive impression with those who were privileged enough to have met him. There is not a person whose life he has impacted that does not have an "Uncle Joe," "Neighbor Joe," or Dad story that will bring a smile to their face even on the darkest of days. His legacy will always be that of a loving, charitable, kind, and good man.
Joe is survived by his wife LouAnn Doyle, his children Trisha (Tom) Buchwald, Derek (Erin) Doyle, Kyle (Mercedes) Doyle, his five grandchildren Sage, Braden, Brinley, Clayton, and Rinoa who adored him, Mother Rita Ivory, sisters Ann Johston, Katie (Darwin) Gaster, Nancy (Dave) Weiss, Sue (Denny) Runyan, Mary (John) Orthman, brother John (Martha) Doyle and step siblings Cindy Ivory, Rob Ivory, Doug (Linda) Ivory, Tim (Brenda) Ivory and Denny Ivory.

"Louann and family,
Ed and I are both so very sorry for Joe's unexpected death. We still can't believe it and are heartsick. Joe was so kind and caring. He didn't hesitate when we asked him to be a pallbearer for Sherry's dad three years ago. Little did we know that three years later God would call Joe home. We'll never forget his contagious smile.
Unfortunately, we are out of state and not able to attend Joe's visitation or funeral. We will most definitely be with you in spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

"Dear Louann and all of the Doyle family, we cannot fathom and are so sorry, that Joe has passed from his large life. Such a great guy. Gary is reminded of their great trip to the boundary waters and we both will never forget the "Bubba teeth" at the Ballard football game. We didn't visit enough, but we will always remember Joe, and his smile, with a smile. "

"My Uncle Joe always had a contagious smile and spirit. He consistently had love in his heart, and deer venison in the garage freezer. He was the funniest of all of his siblings combined. Roughly 26 years ago he stole my nose and he must have it in a safe somewhere, so whoever inherited my nose, please give it back."

"I met Joe in Montana about 6 or 7 years ago we just started talking . And then we started talking about hunting . Then I knew we were going to be good friends . Joe Derek and some of Derek's friends came hunting as well. I learned alot from this amazing man. We became good friends and texted back and fourth all the time. This summer I finally was able to meet his amazing wife Louann who Joe always talked about her and their children. We went on a drive in Montana up the beartooth highway it's the highest road in the lower 48 states and has amazing views. The most amazing family I have ever met in my entire life. I will surely miss my friend Joe! RIP Joe ! Love ya man !"

"My younger brother will be missed by all. I and my siblings used to put him in the rhubarb patch with a bowl of sugar so we didn't have to run after him all the time when he was a toddler. He loved rhubarb but not as much as he loved his wife and family. "
