In loving memory of

Katherine Lynn Johnson
September 16, 1958 - January 9, 2022

Johnson, Mrs.
Katherine Lynn
Muskegon, Michigan

Katherine Lynn Johnson, age 63, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, after a short battle and complications from cancer. She was born in Muskegon, MI on September 16, 1958, to Lewis & Jeanine (Piirainen) Butrick. She lived in Muskegon all her life and was a beloved member of the community. Katherine worked as a preschool teacher early in her career and loved helping children. She took her love for children to Muskegon Community College where she worked in the Early Childhood program. She was a member of First Congregational Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Most recently, she was employed as a manager at PNC Bank where she loved working with her team and helping the many customers she developed close relationships with.

Katherine loved her children and was proud of the adults they've become and the families they've built. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Katka". She also enjoyed spending time with her sister and brother and the rest of her family and friends. She would never turn down a perfect beach day, taking a boat ride, or hanging by the pool with the people she loved.

Katherine will be greatly missed. She could never leave the house without running into a friend or "fan". On the rare occasion she stepped out and didn't run into someone she knew, you could count on her to make a new friend. She was a wonderful soul who was kind to everyone she knew. Katherine was a great listener and being in her presence brought out the best in everyone.

"I absolutely loved Katherine. As bank manager, she helped me with my business, with my dying sister and in between we would talk about everything. She was kind and funny. I am so sorry for her family's loss. I am sure she is already making friends in the great beyond. Rest in peace, Katherine--but you will probably be making friends with various angels. "
