MUSCATINE, Iowa--Glenn R. Dusenberry, 67, of Bennett, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Trinity Hospital of Muscatine following a courageous battle with heart disease.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Michael Bales of First Assembly of God will officiate. Casket bearers will be Mike Dusenberry, Gary Boswell, Jarred Hoffman, Christopher Plowman, Tyson Lamb, Cody Dusenberry and Jacob Dusenberry. Honorary Casket bearers will be Kenny Hammond, Russell Frisbie, Alex Holladay and Ronnie Dusenberry. Burial will take place in Montpelier Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.

Glenn Richard Dusenberry was born on December 4, 1943, in Muscatine, the son of Raymond F. and Alberta Strommer Dusenberry. On October 13, 1978, he was united in marriage to Vicki Phillips in Muscatine.

Glenn was a self-employed truck driver hauling grain for many farmers in the surrounding area. He enjoyed field-trial dog racing, greyhounds, coon hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR racing, mushroom hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Glenn will be deeply missed by his wife, Vicki Dusenberry of Bennett; three sons, Dean Dusenberry and wife, Nancy, of Davenport, Steve Dusenberry and wife, Terrie, of Muscatine, and Glenn Dusenberry Jr. of Wilton; four daughters, Paula Hoekstra and husband, Chris, of Wilton, Melissa Dusenberry of Wilton, Carla Thomsen and fiancé, Gary Boswell, of Wilton and Laresa Petersen and significant other, Jarred Hoffman, of Muscatine; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Dewayne Dusenberry and wife, Jacque, of Moscow, Larry Dusenberry of Moscow, Keith Dusenberry and wife, Charlene, of Muscatine, Karen Bails and husband, John, of Cedar Rapids, Evelyn DeVore and husband, Kevin, of Muscatine, Sharon Dusenberry of Denver, North Carolina, Kenny Dusenberry and wife, Linda, of Muscatine, and Peggy Plowman of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Dusenberry; three brothers, Donnie, Chuck and Meryle Dusenberry; and one sister, Joyce Dusenberry.
