James A. Smith, III
September 22, 1940 - January 12, 2022

James A. Smith, III, of Gloucester Twp., passed away after a battle with cancer, on January 12, 2022.

He was 81 years old. Born on September 22, 1940 in Montclair, NJ.

He was the son of the late James A. Smith, Jr. and Emily (nee Titus). Beloved husband of Jacqueline H. Smith (nee Hemcher) with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Devoted father of Stacie Lerro (Jeff), Kelly Teesdale (Jamie), and Andrew Smith IV (Kelly). Loving grandfather of Sophia, Sadie, Jack, James, Grace, Kaylee, Julia, Olivia, Jake, and Kiera. Dear brother of Penny Kaliski and Karen Smith.

Jim, also affectionately called Andy by his siblings, was a Systems Analyst who worked at Sun Co., Cigna Corp., and Atlantic City Medical Center. He loved sports and coached his children in soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball. His joy was his grandchildren and attending their games as well as their dance and cheer performances. Jim's passion was photography. He was always behind the lens, capturing special moments of his loved ones. In addition, Jim loved Myrtle Beach, SC, where he spent 18 years vacationing with family and friends at the Windmere in North Myrtle Beach.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing from 10:15am to 11:45am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Agnes RC Church, Blackwood.

Funeral Mass 12 noon at the Church. Interment is private at the request of the family.

Jim and Jacqueline volunteered with Holy Redeemer Hospice in Runnemede, NJ for 10 years.
