James D. Fisher, 85, of Ellenton, FL. passed away January 14, 2022. Born in Schenectady, N.Y. he was predeceased by his parents Dorn and Ellen (King) Fisher.
James was a longtime resident of East Syracuse, N.Y., and was co-owner of Fisher Bros. Ace Hardware for over 30 years. He enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing, boating, and square dancing. James was a 60-year member of the Freemasons Memorial Lodge 648, N. Syracuse, N.Y. He served the Town of DeWitt as a board member (83-92) and Town Supervisor (92-95).
James is survived by his children, Charles Fisher (Jane) and Linda Sgroi of Georgia; 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, Thomas Fisher of East Syracuse, John Fisher of Manlius, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Ella of 51 years, and sister Elizabeth Vollmer.
