In loving memory of

Kathy Ann Drewniak
June 30, 1964 - January 11, 2022

Kathy Ann Drewniak, of Pickerel, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. She was 57 years old. She was born on June 30, 1964, in Chicago, a daughter of Gerald and Lolita Ewig. She married Jan Drewniak on July 27, 2004. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2015.

Kathy and her husband owned and operated Sunset Bay Resort on Pickerel Lake for 15 years. Many customers and friends knew her as "Kat".

She was very hard-working and generous. She was a waitress for several years, and she bartended for about 15 years. She also cleaned the cabins, while raising her children. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and would make meals in the bar for parties, and football games. She enjoyed gardening and planting vegetables and flowers every year. Some of her hobbies were playing pool and darts.

She had been diagnosed with kidney cancer when she was pregnant with her third child and had to get a kidney removed. Even when she was ill, or down, she never stopped trying. She would still go to her children's school functions/concerts, decorate and prepare for the holidays. One of her quotes was, "There's no such thing as can't".

Survivors include two daughters, Angel Drewniak and Heather Grisius both of Antigo; a son, Scott (Maria) Schey of Saxon; two step-sons, Michael Drewniak of Milwaukee and Robert Drewniak of Pickerel; four grandchildren, Rowan, Jensen, Korbin, and Bastion; brothers and sisters, Clint, Cindy, Nancy and Dan; and family friend, Donna Bazille.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a son-in-law, Joseph Grisius.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
