DAVID LLOYD PAINTER
MUSCATINE, Iowa -David Painter, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Mary Jane Painter. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Dave was born on March 7, 1940, in Muscatine, the son of Lloyd and Marian Becker Painter. He married Mary Jane Pulliam on November 7, 1959, in Muscatine.

Dave graduated from Hayes High School, class of 1958. He drove for Better Homes Furniture and then Hon for 37 years before retiring. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, refinishing furniture, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include, his wife, Mary Jane of Muscatine; four sons, Jim Painter and his wife, Angie, of Muscatine, Tim Painter and his wife, Sonja, of Muscatine, Chris Painter and his wife, Deb, of Fruitland, and Scott Painter and his wife, Janice, of Muscatine; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Lilly and her husband, Grant, and their children, Macy, Emery, Kendyll, and Elowyn, Jennifer Roth and her husband, Ryan, and their children, Carter and Clayton, Shelly Cunningham and Melissa Martinez and their families, Craig Hacket and his fiancé, Andrea, and their children, Macey and Jared, Mitch Painter, Zach Painter, and Matt, Levi, Jake, Cole, and Makayla Painter and their families; and several nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Painter and Mike Painter; and one sister, Judith Sander.
