In loving memory of

Sara Jean Bender
January 15, 1945 - January 20, 2022

Sara passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2022 at the age of 77; she was a longtime resident of Sarasota, Florida.

Sara was born January 15, 1945 in Port Chester, NY to John J Innominato and Domenica M Bochicchio Innominato . She graduated Port Chester High School in 1962 and then received her Cosmetology license soon after. Sara continued to hone her craft by taking numerous classes and courses to further her expertise and was a Master Hair Designer until she retired.

Sara loved becoming a mother, adored her grandchildren and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also cherished her Chihuahua Sweetie, was an avid reader, delighted in travel and enjoyed the sunshine and sunbathing. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee along with a smoke, especially at a slot machine in a casino and then Bingo in her later years.

Sara was a vivacious free spirit, making friends and creating laughs and smiles wherever she went. She relished her profession and in earlier days would carry scissors for an impromptu request for a cut from any and all that asked. Sara had a very keen eye for fashion, even when it came to her loungewear. A Sara family favorite was her imitation of a Rooster call - Cock-a-Doodle-Doo!

She is survived by her daughter Katie Mae Loschin, son-in-law Jonathan Loschin, grandchildren Dana and Dean, all of Sarasota, FL, two sisters Janet M Cuddy of Sarasota, FL, Jaime A Innominato-Nielsen of Port Chester, NY and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Sara was predeceased by her husband James (Jamie) Bender, mother Domenica , father John, brother John J Innominato, Jr and sister Jacqueline Innominato - Fazio.

In her later years Sara took things in stride, was easy going and accepted things not in her control. This is a lesson we can all learn by and should emulate.

Sara is loved by many near and far and will be sorely missed by all. Rest in peace sister, smile and dance with the angels, you will always and forever be in our hearts.

There will be no visitation; we will have an informal scattering of Sara's ashes at a later date.

"I had the pleasure to meet Sara this last year. Sara a kind individual, she and my mother Joan became friends, both NYers and both shared the same birthday. I was fortunate to see Sara on her most recent birthday as we shared in cake for my mother as well as herself. Thank you Sara for your kindness towards my mother. It was a pleasure to meet you. May you Rest In Peace! "
