Edna Lee Gorby
February 1, 1946 - January 27, 2022

Edna Lee Gorby age 75 of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on January 27, 2022 in Sarasota, Florida just 5 days before her 76th Birthday, with her daughter by her side.

Edna was born in Warren, Ohio to Lillian Levina Moore on February 1, 1946. She attended Howland High School. She went on to earn a certificate degree in Medical Assisting after raising a family and also worked for the Maplewood School District in Cortland, Ohio as a bus driver and in the school cafeteria.

She enjoyed music, crocheting, baking and playing cards. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren more than life itself. She was involved for many years with the CF Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis.

Edna is survived by her son Wayne M. Gorby Jr. & wife Mary of Rossville, GA, her grandchildren Kyle Gorby of Atlanta, GA and Kaitlyn & Jordan Leigh, Rossville, GA and her two beautiful great grandchildren Lincoln & Logan Leigh. Her daughter Denise Galloway and husband Bill of Punta Gorda and sister, Judy Daniels Rutan of South Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her mother Lillian, daughter Sherry, Son Gary, her sister Sandy Smith and brother Rick Moore.

A dear friend said it best. My mother was there for our first breath and we were there for her last.

Services will be held at a later date in Cortland, Ohio. She will be laid to rest in Champion, Ohio next to her son Gary.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Edna Gorby.
