Phyllis Kegler
April 30, 1929 - February 9, 2022

Phyllis Kegler, of Antigo, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at The Bay at Gardenview. She was 92 years old. She was born on April 30, 1929, in Antigo, a daughter of Louis and Genevieve (Wirtz) Raab. She married Thomas Byholm on May 21, 1949, he preceded her in death. On August 6, 1953, she married Clifford Kegler at St. Wencel Catholic Church in Neva, he preceded her in death on May 11, 1998.

Phyllis was a graduate of Antigo High School. She worked in Milwaukee at the telephone company as a cashier for three years. She returned to Antigo in 1951. She was employed at Sheldon's tying flies at home for seven years and then at the plant for 19 years, retiring in 1991.

Phyllis loved all crafts including quilting, sewing, basket weaving, and embroidery. She also enjoyed taking care of her lawn and garden.

Survivors include three children, Jerry (Ruth Goldsworthy) Byholm of Green Bay, Connie (Gary) Bessa of Rhinelander, and Karl Kegler of Antigo; eight grandchildren, Tom Byholm, Nick Byholm, Tania (Kevin) Kennedy, Tina (Dan) Baumann, Brian (Lauren) Bessa, Jon Bessa, Shannon (Justin) Young and Jenna (Brad Joseph) Kegler; and seven great-grandchildren, Kade, Konnor and Kyleigh Kennedy, Brittany Haker, Jacob Baumann, Tait, and Jack Bessa.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Ann Kegler; a great-grandson, Kaleb Kennedy; and a brother, Donald (Marcella) Raab.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Antigo. Visitation will be Monday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
