Emil F. Matuszewski, of Antigo, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 77 years old. He was born on July 13, 1934 in Antigo, a son of the late John and Mary (Fiala) Matuszewski. He married Nancy Sekaney on November 28, 1964 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. She survives.
Mr. Matuszewski served in the United States Army. He raised black angus beef cattle and was employed at Lockwood Corporation as a branch foreman for 17 years and then at Amron Corporation in the maintenance department retiring in 2003.
He was a member of the Lily Sno-birds Club and the Langlade County 4-H and FFA Market Animal Committee.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, playing guitar and singing in a number of country western bands.
In addition to his wife survivors include four children, Scott (Penny) Matuszewski, Deerbrook, Laura (Tim) Husnick, Antigo, Susan Degen, Waupaca and Chad (Tiffany) Matuszewski, Bryant; nine grandchildren, Madeline and Isabelle Matuszewski, Jacob and Hannah Husnick, Emily, Ava and Alivia Degen, Dakota and Dylan Matuszewski; three sisters, Mary (Harold) Seis, Antigo, Helen Morrissey, Antigo and Rosemary (Edward) Wilcenski, Waukesha; and two brothers, Edward Matuszewski, Red Granite and John (Mary Ann) Matuszewski, Milwaukee.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymon and Joseph Matuszewski; and a sister, Cecelia Starr.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be 3:30 - 8 p.m. on Sunday and 9 - 10 a.m. on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m.
