Paulette J. Lavins
January 14, 1953 - February 28, 2022

Paulette Lavins, 69, died February 28, 2022, at her home in Grosse Pointe Park, MI.

She was born January 14,1953, in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania to Dolores and Paul Lavins. Paulette met her husband Dan at the University of Michigan. After graduating from nursing school, Paulette worked her way up to Head Nurse of Pediatrics at St. John Hospital in Detroit. Her passion for nursing was equaled only by her love for her 3 children and later her 2 grandchildren. Paulette was known for her elaborate needlepointed gifts and fun, zany spirit.

Paulette is survived by her husband, Daniel Sullivan; her children Lauren Sullivan (Ryan Williams), Rachel Smith (Charles) and Spencer Sullivan (Katie); her father Paul, and her sisters Laurie and Cathyanne. Paulette was the proud "Grandma PJ" to Hazel and Owen Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Lavins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3 from 4-8 pm at Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park, MI. A memorial service will be held Friday March 4 at 9:00 am at St. Ambrose Church in Grosse Pointe Park, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
