She met her husband, of blessed memory, Arthur Daum, on the beach in Galveston. They reconnected a few years later in Houston and began dating. They were married on May 3,1952.

Marian's work career included bookkeeping and administrative jobs for private schools, Camp Young Judaea, Congregation Emanu El and Congregation Beth Yeshurun.

She, along with Arthur, were co chairs of the CYJ Camp Committee, part of the Southwest Zionist Youth Commission of Hadassah. They were part of the group that worked toward obtaining the new and permanent camp in Wimberley, when camp was gifted with funds for a permanent facility. They were instrumental in the development of the year round operations at camp. Many years were spent on camp's behalf.

She spent many years as a family volunteer for the Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation. Thanks to her hard work, the Foundation made gifts to make substantial improvements to the Hillel organization on Texas college campuses as well as a dorm dining room at Rice University, and dorms in Galveston at colleges.

Late in life she became a huge fan of painting and completed many beautiful paintings.
