Linda A. Metzelfeld
April 24, 1949 - March 5, 2022

Linda A. Metzelfeld, of Greater Bass Lake, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at her home. She was 72 years old. She was born on April 24, 1949, in Milwaukee, a daughter of Richard and Dolores (Pluczynski) Naczek. She married Glenn Metzelfeld on October 11, 1969, in Milwaukee.

She was a graduate of Pius XI High School in Milwaukee. Linda and her family enjoyed spending time at their family cottage at Greater Bass Lake. In 2000 they built a new home there and it became her permanent residence in 2005.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho

Linda was a true Wisconsinite. She loved the outdoors, camping, traveling, birding, hiking, fishing, gardening, and the Green Bay Packers. In her younger years, she enjoyed figure skating. She also enjoyed country music and rubber stamping, having made many cards for all occasions. Many looked forward to faithfully receiving her cards on holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.

Linda enjoyed playing games with family and friends and looked forward to playing bridge each week.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn; two sons, Scott (Melissa) Metzelfeld of Bristol, WI and David (Jamie) Metzelfeld of Elgin, SC; five grandchildren, Myles, Sadie and Max Metzelfeld, and Owen and Jacob Metzelfeld; two brothers, Michael (Elizabeth) Naczek of West Allis and Thomas (Louise) Naczek of Wauwatosa; a sister-in-law, Nancy Metzelfeld of Brookfield; a brother-in-law, Donald (Donna) Metzelfeld of Franklin; and her God-daughter, Lindsey Naczek. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Lee Metzelfeld.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elcho with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating.

Visitation will be Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Mass.

Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Summit Lake at a later date.
