John L. Smith, III passed on March 11, 2022. Of Gloucester Twp, formerly of Camden. Age 55. Devoted companion of Joanne Snavely. Devoted father of Nicholas Smith (Kristin), Andrew Smith (Christie), Courtney Smith, Ashley Smith, and Tiffani Cardonick. Beloved Papa John of Rocco, Liam, Sophia, Simeon, and Rae. Loving son of Judith and John Smith, Jr. Adored brother of Tracy Smith (Minerva). Uncle of Brandon, Gabriel, and Isabella. Also survived by his beloved dog Zima, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was happiest when he was on a boat fishing. He loved to cook, he was a head chef at many different restaurants, most recently at King of Pizza in Berlin. He was very outgoing and loved to joke and have a good time. There will be a viewing Friday morning March 18, 2022 from 10am to 12pm at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Interment private.

"Johnny I still can't believe you're gone I just talked to you a couple days ago you were not only my cousin but one of my beat friends and I love you very much I have so many memories of you as a kid and as an adult you had a personality bigger than life I will miss you deeply you were one of the best cooks I ever knew I will miss your cioppino the first time I ever had sushi was with you but I know you are at peace now and I know I will see you again give granny good witch kiss from me!
