January 13, 1956 - March 18, 2022
Josephine Mary Nakamura, nee Zerillo, 66, died peacefully in the Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones, on March 18, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband Ri of 31 years, a brother and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her mother and brother.
Josephine, was born in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Staten Island, NY. After marrying Ri, they moved to North Carolina where she worked as a dispatcher in the Sheriff's department and in addition to, became very active in Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Boone NC. Josephine and Ri went on several disaster relief missions across the country with the North Carolina Baptist Church, before retiring in Florida, three years ago.
Interment will be on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at 12:30PM at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL, 34241.
Donations can be made on Josephine's behalf to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or The Mission Fund at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Boone, NC 28607.
