James L. Lenzner
September 14, 1936 - March 25, 2022

James L. "Jimmy" Lenzner, formerly of Antigo, died Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He was 85 years old. He was born on September 14, 1936, in Antigo a son of the late Joseph and Virginia (Donohue) Lenzner.

He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1955.

Jim served in the United States Army from September 17 , 1959 to September 15, 1961. He was stationed at Hollomon Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was a lineman for Chicago Northwestern, General Telephone and for several private contractors, including Hinkle McCoy. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing, working on cars and his dog Koko and Kitty and New Kitty.

Survivors include four sisters, Virginia O'Connor of Madison, Agnes Halverson of Sheboygan Falls, Betty (Neal) Pecha of Waukesha and Dorothy (Ray) Braun of Antigo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Peter Lenzner; and brothers-in-law, Jerome O'Connor and Duane "Swede" Halverson.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. in Hoffmann Hall.

Military Honors will be held at the church following the funeral Mass. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.

A special thank you to the staffs of the Wisconsin Veterans Home and Hartland Hospice, also to Jimmy's caregiver Kelly for the wonderful care they provided.

Memorials may be directed to All Saints Catholic School or the Langlade County Humane Society.
