June 16, 1925 - March 17, 2022

Joy J. Jones (nee Johnson), of Gloucester Twp. passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2022, she was 96.

She was born on June 16,1925 in Gloucester City, NJ to the late Sara and Walter Johnson. She graduated in 1943 from Haddonfield HS. After high school she worked at RCA in the secretarial pool. After World War II she decided to go to Glassboro State Teachers College and graduated in 1950. Joy, or J-3 as she was known as by many, loved teaching. She taught in Haddon Heights and Gloucester Twp but most of her career was in Washington Twp. She taught many grades over her 32 years there and left a lasting impression on all the students who had the pleasure of being in her class. Joy loved summer time; she enjoyed spending time "down the shore" or relaxing by the pool. She could often be found at the Krazy Ket dancing. Joy always looked sharp; her style was timeless and she always looked stylish. She had a passion for animals and had many pets throughout her life, from her horse, Dolly, to many cats and dogs. Joy loved to read; her favorite book was Gone with the Wind. She had a green thumb and enjoyed keeping her plants beautiful both inside and outside of her home. Recently, she enjoyed quiet time playing solitaire while enjoying a glass of Moscato. Joy took pleasure in the beauty around her and truly cherished the small pleasures of life. More than anything, Joy loved her family. Her most impactful memories involve her immediate and extended family. Some recent memories include her 90th birthday party, weddings, pool parties, and the famous Watson Family Reunion. Joy knew how to make each and every member of her family feel special and so loved.

She was the beloved wife of the late Pinky Jones and fiancé of the late Tony Bezich. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Storer (Tom), MaDee and Nani of Tommy Storer and Sara Nogiewich (John) and great grandmother of Tas Storer and Mick Storer. She was the dear sister of the late Margaret Klinshaw and Walter Johnson. She is the cherished aunt of Margie Rossi (Ron), Lillian Neidig, David Klinshaw, and Patty DeFelice and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
