Kathleen Jo Plzak
February 10, 1963 - April 2, 2022

Kathleen J. "Kathy" Plzak, age 59, of Wausau, died Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Rosalia Gardens under the care of hospice. She was born on February 10, 1963, in Antigo, a daughter of Arleen (Houdek) Plzak of Antigo and the late Daniel "Chum" Plzak.

She graduated from Antigo High School on May 31, 1981.

Kathy worked at Kolbe and Kolbe and then became a homemaker.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She also loved her puppy, Joey. She enjoyed music, shopping, going to garage sales, and feeding the birds and squirrels.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Jessica (Keith J) Neitzke of Wausau, Kurtis (Michelle) Mumper of Weston, and Brittney (Rodney) Verkuilen of Weston; eight grandchildren, Gage, Briar, and Autumn Neitzke, Alexis, Levi, and Brooklyn Mumper, Rodrick and Michael Verkuilen.

She is also survived by two sisters, Deborah (Leonard) Lemmer of Fort Meyer Beach, FL, and Elizabeth (Donald) Jochum of Rochester, MN; three brothers, Michael Plzak of Deerbrook, Carl Plzak of Antigo, and Duane (Deb) Plzak of Anchorage, AK; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Laurie Plzak; maternal grandparents, Charles and Ella Houdek; and paternal grandparents, Carl and Marcella Plzak.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. The visitation will be Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall.

Burial will take place at later date in St. Wencel Catholic Cemetery in Neva.

Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
