Carol Jean Riley Waite
December 29, 1944 - April 12, 2022

Carol Jean Riley Waite, 77, of Bradenton, FL, formally of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 12th, 2022 in Sunnyside Village, Sarasota, FL.

Carol was born in Torrington, CT on December 29, 1944, the daughter of the late Peter and Veronica (Carey) Riley, and was a graduate of Torrington High School.

She was self employed as a seamstress and in retail for most of her life. She enjoyed fashion, home decor, and dining out.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Colleen Mullen and her husband James of Bradenton, FL, her son, Kevin Higgins and his wife Pamela of Cumming, GA, her sister, Elizabeth Riley Ebner, and her brother, Dennis Riley, and her grandchildren, Christina Zieschang and her husband Talon, Marissa Dewey and her husband Dalton, Kierra Higgins, and Karli Higgins, and her great grandchildren, Kayleen and Kayden Zieschang, and her boyfriend, Bill Ernest, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Henry 'Herk' Waite, and her son, Robert Higgins, and her sisters, Judy Smith, Susan Jacob, and her brothers, Robert Riley, Peter Riley, and Mitchell Riley.

Per Carol's wishes an informal Celebration of Life will be held at James and Colleen Mullen's home on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022 at Noon.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sunnyside Village.

Carol will always be remembered by her fashionable boots and belts, exquisite decorating style, her extended coffee hours, evenings dining out with wine glass in hand, and her love and devotion to family and friends.
