Brodrick Gilbert age,62, departed this earthly life on April 16, 2022 at the Hospice Poppen House in Muskegon, MI. He was born on July 31, 1959 in Magnolia, AR to the union of the late Minor and Alve Biddle Gilbert. Aunt Geneva Baker gave him the name "Brodrick Lendell Gilbert."The Gilbert family moved from Chicago, IL to Muskegon, MI in 1965. Broderick gave his life to the Lord at a young age and became a member of Mt. Zion C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor George M. Bennett Sr. and later became a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where his father, Rev. Minor Gilbert Jr. was the pastor. In 2018 he became under 'Watch Care' at Mt. Zion C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Duane E. Bennett until he gained his wings on April 16, 2022.

Brodrick attended the Muskegon area school system where he graduated from Muskegon High School, class of 1977. Brodrick's favorite color was navy blue. He loved "Riding his bike, dancing and listening to music. He loved to watch sports on television especially the NBA Basketball games and his favorite team was the Golden State Warriors. He also enjoyed sightseeing at Lake Michigan. Broderick was a loving and humbled man that had a heart for people and would give you the shirt off his back. He gained employment with Bob Evans, where he worked for ten (10) years and then later at the Getty Grill where he worked for five (5) years.

SURVIVORS
He leaves to cherish his memories: three (3) brothers, James Gilbert Sr., Jerry (Jamaesha) Gilbert, Glen (Regina) Gilbert all of Muskegon, MI., and one (1) sister, Ester Gilbert of Grand Rapid, MI., a host of nieces, nephews, his adoring great nieces, nephews, several beloved uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Minor and Alve Lee Gilbert, his paternal grandparents, Minor Sr and Martha Gilbert and his maternal grandparents, Ocie and Olivia Biddle. Brodrick was loved by his family.

SERVICE
Saturday, April 23, 2022, 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ with Admin Assist. Duane Bennett officiating. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION
Saturday, 23rd of April, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ.

There's not a day goes by that I don't think about you when you were here and it's going to be the same now that you are gone to be with the Lord and our loved ones that's gone. I cherish the memories that we shared during the time we were together. My brother you have earned those wings now you fly into the heavens where you have no worries !
