In loving memory of

Jack Isaias Kriguer
March 30, 1940 - April 23, 2022

Jack Isaias Kriguer was born on March 30, 1940 and raised in Lugano, Switzerland, the third child of BenZion Kriguer and Rochel Dembobski. Jack spoke often of his wonderful childhood with his dear parents, siblings Hannah, Jose (z"L) large extended family, and many good friends.

School was easy for Jack and he excelled in his studies. Upon his high school graduation he studied engineering in the polytechnic university in Madrid, Spain, and at the Sorbonne in Paris. His family gradually moved to Chile as they were afraid of an invasion by Russia after World War II. Jack joined his family to complete his engineering master's degree at Universidad de Chile in Santiago. Upon graduation, he worked with a well-known firm and, at age twenty four, was in charge of the construction of the first round high -rise with 150 workers under his direction in downtown Santiago.

For improvement of his engineering skills, and as an adventure, Jack came to the University of California at Berkeley to pursue a Master's degree in Structural Engineering. He stayed in the United States and worked in his specialty for seventeen years in northern and southern California. He then ventured in real estate financing and became quite successful in Los Angeles.
Jack was a devoted and loving father to Marc, a computer engineer in Oakland, CA and grandfather to Jasper.

Jack met Rosa Castiel twenty seven years ago in Los Angeles. She became his love, wife, partner and best friend in life. When the economy in southern CA had a downturn, Jack and Rosa moved to Houston fourteen years ago and found good opportunities.

Jack was always aware of world news and scientific and social developments. He loved his Jewish heritage and was very proud of Israel and all its accomplishments. Jack loved philosophy, politics, jazz, classical music, live theater and good movies, reading and travel, among others. He was kind, mild mannered and liked to share stories and jokes with others. He was a real gentleman who enjoyed living.

Unfortunately, Jack passed away on April 23, 2022 from pancreatic cancer.

Jack will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews in Chile and Israel , his other relatives, his life-long friends and colleagues in the U.S. and overseas, his Houston friends, and especially by Rosa.
