Thomas J. Gallagher
March 12, 1923 - April 23, 2022
Thomas J. Gallagher of Voorhees, previously of Somerdale, Stratford and Magnolia passed away on April 23rd at the age of 99 surrounded by his daughters.
Tom was a loving husband to the late Helen M. (nee McGhee) and father to the late Denise Beer (Stephen), Lorraine Lair (Richard), Michele Murphy (Philip), the late Patricia Gallagher and Bobbi Jean Rochford. He will be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren and his 9 great grandchildren.
Tom was a proud US Navy veteran who served aboard the USS California in WWII. He was a two-time Camden County American Legion Commander and past post Commander for American Legion Post 370, Magnolia and served as the Camden County representative on several state committees and was a delegate for CCVAC.
Tom was Regional Sales Manager for Ransome Lift Equipment until his retirement in 1982. He was an avid golfer and a charter member of Laurel Oak Country Club prior to its closing. After that, he was a member of several golf courses throughout South Jersey. Tom also enjoyed dancing at the Lindenwold Moose Club with his beloved Helen ("Fred and Ginger") and recently enjoyed the Friday night dances at the Friendly Single 50+ Club in Bellmawr.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, April 30th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 55 Warwick Road, Stratford, NJ 08084.
Visitation will be from 10:45 to 11:45 AM with a Mass at 12:00 PM.
Interment will be at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's honor to the American Legion Post 370, 430 N. Warwick Road, Magnolia, NJ 08049.
