Joann Emily Plocinik
June 24, 1938 - April 28, 2022

Joann Emily Plocinik, age 83, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 28, 2022. Joann was a resident of Eastpointe Michigan for the last 61 years.

Joann was the beloved mother of 4 children, Stephen (fiancee Ellen) Plocinik, Elaine (Marshall) Isaacs, Richard (Kristen) Plocinik, and Michael (Sarah) Plocinik. She was a wonderful grandmother to Hailey and Blake Isaacs, and Sophie and Stella Plocinik. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony) whom she was married to for 47 years, and parents John and Sophie Dorn.

Joann was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. She attended Assumption Grotto Grade School and was a proud graduate of Dominican High School ('56) in Detroit. She raised her family and worked as a secretary at St. Basil in Eastpointe, and at Lakeside Community Church in St Clair Shores.

Joann enjoyed vacationing with her husband and taking family trips when her kids were young. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going dancing with Tony, church, and monthly gatherings playing cards with "Club." She will always be remembered for being likable and selfless. She attended countless sporting events and recitals, graduations and weddings, always there to support. She loved holiday gatherings and the Plocinik family picnic. In her later years, she enjoyed her "sit and knit" group, and the occasional bus trip to the casino. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

"We will miss dear Joann very much as a part of our extended family. She had a wonderful happy nature, was always ladylike in her ways, and so so clever with projects and games. On our 50th anniversary, she sent a huge batch of Polish pastries for all to enjoy. She will be missed very much."
