Carmletta F. Tool, age 81 of Reasnor, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at The Comfort House in Pella. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com
The daughter of Milton and Edith (Watkins) Van Cleave, Carmletta was born on April 3, 1941 in Newton, Iowa. She was raised with 6 siblings, in Newton, Iowa and attended Newton schools. On September 14,1960 she was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Tool, of Reasnor, Iowa. Carmletta worked at Bruce Cleaners in Newton, IA and then was a homemaker. Carmletta and Kenneth raised 3 beautiful children Chris, Reasnor, IA, Dan (Renae), Reasnor, IA and Rebecca, Newton, IA. Carmletta has 7 grandchildren, Kristen, Melinda, Samantha, and Timothy. Jacob, Dani Sue and Colby. 4 great grandchildren, Bayne Drake, Baylee, and Garrett .
She loved to bake, cook, spend time with her family, camping and fishing with her kids and grandkids "We had some good times",playing cards, going to Bluegrass programs, going to garage sales with her sisters, taking her grandchildren swimming at Maytag park and fishing on the the pontoon with her husband. Carmletta enjoyed helping with the ice cream social and Bible school at the Reasnor United Methodist Church.
Carmletta was very devoted to her family and was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and aunt. Quoting Carmletta, " I love my three children very, very much" "I love my 7 grandchildren and my 4 great grandchildren, each and everyone of them". She loved to give hugs and kisses to them always and those will be greatly missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Kenneth; children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Vicki Kling and Janet Plumb .
Preceding her in death were her parents Milton and Edythe Van Cleave, her brothers, LeRoy Van Cleave and Jr. Van Cleave, her sisters Dixie Reace, Carolyn Fifer and Barbra Van Cleave.

"Carmy & I grew up in the same neighborhood. She was a SPECIAL & LONG TIME friend. For many years had lunch with her, Janet, Carolyn & Vickie. Growing up when she turned 16 & got her drivers license, she was our transportation to skating. What a FUN!! Time. I didn't see her often in the last few years But I will TRULY miss her. RIP Carmy!! MY LONG TIME FRIEND!!"
