In loving memory of

Dorit Holland
October 12, 1951 - May 4, 2022

Dorit Mendelssohn Holland, 70, beloved mother, wife, Safta, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Haifa, Israel, the youngest daughter of Malka and Eliezer Teichner, immigrants from Germany.

Dorit graduated from Kiryat Haim high school in 1969 and served in the Israeli Defense Force from 1969 to 1971. She moved to the U.S. in 1980 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
She had a bright and energetic personality and made an impression on everyone she met. She had an ability for sensing when people needed help and was a passionate and devoted advocate for others with CRPS, a debilitating pain disease she tenaciously battled the last 6 years of her life. She was a resilient figure in the face of adversity and many people were touched by her mentorship and friendship. She had an acute awareness of the importance of a life lived with the ones you love over material possessions, and it is these connections and strengths that survive her.

Dorit was preceded in death by her parents. She will be sorely missed and is survived by her husband, John Holland; her three children, Tamar, Yossef, and Efrat (Dan); her sister, Varda Margolin; her two grandchildren Nathaniel and Anna; the father of her children, Eliezer Mendelssohn; and the many cousins, nieces and nephews, and loyal friends who love her dearly.
Dorit will be honored in a graveside funeral service on Monday, May 9, at 1 p.m., at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St., Houston, TX,77074.

Contributions in Dorit's memory may be made to Ferocious Fighters, an organization that creates community and support for families of young people with CRPS.
